Nuno Alves – A Tropical Twist to Christmas

Chef Nuno Alves recommends bringing a little hint of Hawaii to New England this holiday season – the Tavolo chef has put an electric shaved ice machine at the top of his wish list. Wrap one of these fun kitchen toys up for someone you know and they’ll be able to recreate the frosty and refreshing treats (which differ from snow cones in that the ice is shaved, not crushed) all year long. Your giftee can get creative and whip up their own concoctions (Alves was thinking of adding limoncello-Thai basil or espresso-dulce de leche to the Tavolo menu), order up some of the basics (blue raspberry, cherry, grape) or go for something particularly tropical (pineapple, coconut cream, passion fruit) to really get a Hawaiian vibe going.
