Starting Off with a Bang - Or a Bag

Starting off with a Bang – or a Bag

Legal Harborside’s Robert Fathman, the chef behind Legal Sea Food’s three-tiered waterfront flagship and one of Esquire’s Best New Restaurants 2011, is hoping for a brand new bag this holiday season. The former motorcycle enthusiast particularly likes the Hammarhead Industries heavy-duty Day Pack. Designed with practicality and portability in mind, it’s modeled after old military packs, made from waxed cotton canvas partially wrapped in salvaged leather with sturdy nylon straps and indestructible buckles. The pared-down pack has roomy compartments that Fathman explains are perfect for holding the tools of his trade (like knives and cookbooks) as well as more mundane necessities (like groceries). Pick up a pack for the biker (or cycler – they’re good for bike riders, too) on your list. Whether they’re riding around town or running up and down stairs all day, they can do it in style.
