Give the Gift of Good Will
The holidays can be full of fun – with lots of gift-giving (and getting), fabulous food-stuffs and plentiful occasions for merry-making. They’re also ripe with opportunities for do-gooding. This year, chef Paul Turano of Arlington’s Tryst is asking folks to get into the whole good-will-toward-men (and women and children) spirit of the season with a month-long fundraiser for the Patient and Family Resource Room at Boston Children’s Hospital.
Staffed by an on-site educator, the Resource Room helps patients and their kin learn about treatment, connect with other families and regain a sense of normalcy and routine during trying times. Turano has had some personal experience with the Patient and Family Resource Room (his son underwent a bone marrow transplant at Children’s Hospital at just two months old) so he’s adding a little extra incentive: just bring proof of your donation in to the restaurant to receive a $20 gift certificate.
Log on to Turano’s dedicated page before the end of the month to make a donation – for yourself or on behalf of a giftee on your list – and you’ll be doing good and getting good eats in return.
