How the Wine Saved Christmas

How the Wine Saved Christmas

No need to get all grinchy this holiday season just because you’ve got loads of presents to buy and a plethora of social obligations. Now, we’ve never personally been tempted to tie an antler onto our dog’s head and steal Christmas from an entire town of tiny, cheerful creatures prone to spontaneous bouts of singing, but holiday stress can do strange things to people. Happily, one thing you won’t have to worry about is wine to drink at dinner, serve to your guests or give as a hostess gift.

Maureen Rubino, co-owner at Central Bottle, the sister shop to The Blue Room and newly opened Belly, suggest you stock up on the 2010 Nosioli from Gino Pedrotti.  Made in Trentino, Italy, this wine retails for only $20 at her shop – meaning you can pick up a bottle for yourself and any and all wine lovers in your life. Now that’ll make your heart grow three sizes.

Best of all, when we asked Rubino for her suggestion for the perfect wine to take you through the whole Christmas season, she not only gave us a fabulous option, she wrote a little poem which was too adorable not to share. Enjoy her ode to the wine that saved Christmas:

A poem for the Grinch to read…

Gino Pedrotti he makes the fine wine,
To sip on its own or have when you dine.

His Nosiola is lovely, so sunny and bright;
Fruit, floral and honey with a hint of spice.

Like Trentino air, it’s just a bit bracing;
Terroir and earth you can sense in the tasting.

The fullness delivers another good reason
This wine is our #1 choice for the season!
