A Helping Hand for Chefly Hands

A Helping Hand for Chefly Hands

A life in the kitchen, with all the whirring blades, open flames, and hot, spattering oils, can wreak havoc on one’s hands – just ask UpStairs on the Square’s Susan Regis. The James Beard Award-winning chef has more than a few battle scars to show for her decades on the line. To combat the every day hazards of the job, she looks to the folks at Boulette’s Larder, a San Francisco restaurant with its own line of hand care products designed for chefs.

The trio of ointments (sold individually) blends organic essential oils, beeswax absolute and aloe to cleanse, heal and moisturize. The Cleansing Pomace helps remove stubborn stains (say, from beets or berries) and lingering smells (from something like onions or garlic, perhaps); the Moisture Seal Crème combats the ill effects of frequent hand (and dish) washing; and the Healing Solution soothes the pain from the occasional burn and facilitates healing.

Log on to the Boulette’s Larder website to place an order on behalf of someone you know whose hands could use a little TLC.
